What the facts say

Our view
Best selection: In The Trenches. Recent figures of P471 – won last time; a Race DNA fit of 82 – today's going, trip and track suit what it has shown before; 22 days since its last run, a sensible gap; trainer Jennie Candlish has had 50 winners from 311 runners in our recent records.
The case against: Start Again is close on the numbers; handicap marks are meant to level the field; we can't yet confirm how it handles good to firm ground from our own records.
Others to consider: Start Again.
